About Me

I have an enormous amount of respect for every Kettering Student. You are accomplishing more in the time you are at Kettering, than many people do between the time they graduate high school and celebrate their 30th Birthday. Therefore, I take my job as your teacher very seriously. Teaching is much more than presenting subject matter and assigning grades. These activities are necessary, but no where near sufficient for teaching. My job is to design an educational experience, which when you complete you will be able to apply the subject matter in a variety of new and familiar contexts. Each course, is an experience which includes: registering, preparing for class-sessions, participating in class-sessions integrated with lab/practical experience, applying your knowledge through HW, and demonstrating mastery on tests and the final examination. I provide resources for you to be successful every step of the way. My course websites demonstrate this. I will do everything practical/possible to help ensure your success.

I do not know how to lecture. The class-sessions I lead foster deep and active learning. I do not post office hours, so that I can maximize my availability to you. A second goal of mine, is that when you complete one of my courses, you feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. I strive to continually improve the learning experience of students taking my courses, and will share these efforts with you. Please check out my ratemyprofessors.com data, I will share this with you when I start the course and address many of the issues raised.

I also like to have a lot of fun while ensuring you learn, so here is some good cheer, and here is one of the many quotes you will hear as I present the subject matter. "All Good Things Start with Necking". I am hoping the list continues to grow. I heard there are others out there.
